Technical Fibres - Para Aramid
Para-Aramid fibre belongs to a family of synthetic products. These fibres are recycled by Polyarn and processed into milled fibre suitable for various applications. These milled fibres offer the following characteristics:
- High strength: they are up to five times stronger than steel on an equal weight basis
- High heat resistance: some types can resist more than 500 degrees Celsius.
Polyarn offers two types of milled fibre: carbon fibres and aramid fibres. Milled fibres such as carbon and aramid fibres are used in aerospace and military applications, for ballistic-rated body armour fabric, in bicycle tires and as an asbestos substitute.
